Jesus said to feed the hungry, and Texas Baptists work tirelessly to help meet crisis needs and provide programs to relieve hunger on a long-term basis.
The Texas Baptist Offering for World Hunger is a way for God’s people to reach out to the world’s poor and hungry. The offering supports projects across the globe that feed the hungry (relief) and help the hungry to help themselves (development) in the context of holistic Christian ministry. One-fourth of the offering stays in Texas in support of church-based hunger ministries. It also supports ministries in other states, including Alaska, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, New Mexico, New York, and Wyoming. Sixty percent of the offering supports ministries in Mexico, the Caribbean Basin, South America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
