Church Weekday Education ConferencesReach out into your church’s broader community with everyday programs that truly meet their needs: weekday education programs such as Parent’s Day Out, latchkey ministries and child development center programs. In collaboration with the Texas Baptist Church Weekday Education Association™, we provide eight regional conferences each year, as well as an annual conference where over a thousand directors, teachers and other leaders of will gather at Baylor University in July to learn more and be inspired regarding these vital programs. These conferences will help you and your church leadership learn how to launch such ministries or improve them, while it exposes you to a network of people and ministries you can depend on throughout the year. Church Library ConventionThe BGCT provides an annual convention (usually in March) for church librarians and their staff. This convention provides opportunities for fellowship and training sessions, while encouraging networking among church librarians. Each year the convention offers an average of 35 classes, many of which offer certification opportunities. The schedule provides such courses as training in library technology and software, methods of library science (cataloging, repair, publicity, etc.) and copyright, confidentiality and communication. Ministers' Wives RetreatMinisters’ wives from all over Texas are invited to participate in an annual retreat designed for fellowship, inspiration and encouragement through Bible Study, worship, and networking with other ministers' wives. This retreat, designed for Christian Educators and their spouses, begins on Tuesday afternoon and concludes at noon on Thursday. The retreat includes a golf tournament on Tuesday morning, banquet on Tuesday evening, featured speakers, inspirational music, break-out sessions to meet specific needs, wives' conference, regional break-out sessions and a lot of time for fun and fellowship. Lay persons and vocational ministers who are interested in mobilizing and encouraging the ministry of the laity in the church and in the world are welcomed.
