Purpose StatementThe Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas has established the Rudy and Micaela Camacho Scholarship for the purpose of developing Hispanic Baptist leadership. Up to (2) two undergraduate students will be selected annually to receive a scholarship for $1,000 per semester with a maximum of four years. Qualifications- Must be a Christian and a member of a Hispanic Baptist Church in Texas that contributes to the Cooperative Program through the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
- Must have a high school diploma with a “B” average (3.0 out of a 4.0 grade point average) and maintain a “B” average and full-time status throughout the duration of the scholarship. REQUIRED: An official transcript from High School and/or University must be mailed to the Office of Hispanic Ministries.
- Must be accepted into a 4-year university in Texas and submit a letter of acceptance from the university before the final deadline.
- Must be able to attend the Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas annual meeting. Must provide own transportation to event. (The convention will provide lodging only).
- Must remain active in a Hispanic Baptist church that cooperates with the Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas and Baptist General Convention of Texas throughout the years of receiving the scholarship.
- Must fulfill all of the above qualifications and submit a complete application, references, and most current transcript to Institutional Ministries Office of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that all supplemental information has been submitted on time. Failure to do this indicates that the application is incomplete and ineligible for review.
