Journeys: Women in Ministry Conference


The 2009 Women in Ministry Conference is designed for Ministry students (undergraduate and graduate) from Texas Baptist universities and seminaries, as well as Baptist men and women who are interested in Women in Ministry.


The conference will encourage, support, and connect women who sense a call to vocational ministry, and offer a venue for women and men to learn more about working together in ministry.

Ministering Together: Balancing two callings as a couple!—What if you and your spouse are both ministers?


Sorting it out—Discover how to clarify your call.


A balancing act for women in ministry—How to keep your life in balance as minister, parent, spouse, and church leader.


Gender Relations—How do you lead and minister effectively with the other gender?


Biblical basis for women in ministry—A study of passages in the New Testament.


On being Baptist—The positive things about being a Baptist woman in ministry.


Resources for the Journey—Resources available to women in ministry: supportive organizations, websites, books, peer groups, etc.


Conflict Resolution—This workshop will offer some very helpful tools to recognize and deal with conflict.

 

 

Journey Group Choices

Journey Groups will be for dialogue and journey sharing among persons serving in and persons interested in the following ministry areas.


Missions – local and global missions


Pastoral Care/Chaplaincy – church or institutional


Preaching/Teaching /Worship Leadership – proclamation


Preschool/Children – church or institutional


Youth/Student Ministry – church or institutional

 

Journey to Affirmation of Women in Ministry – panel of men sharing their journeys to affirmation of women in ministry
