The Congregational Leadership Team assists congregational leaders in the discovery of their calling and the development of their effectiveness while providing personal and professional support as we guide local churches to fulfill their mission. To help develop healthy, effective, Christ-like leaders, we can come to your church or association and present any of these workshops (or other topics that you need) for your church’s leadership or other selected participants. The length of the workshops vary, depending upon the perceived need by church leaders. Contact us to work out a time for us to come!

Counseling and Pastoral Care

The BGCT offers confidential assessment, counseling referral services for you and your family. Initial assessment will be provided by phone, in order to provide referral to the more than 100 approved professionals across Texas. Conflict Mediation Services

Professional coaching is available to church staff, church lay leadership, and church members in times of crisis such as church conflict, staff and leadership issues, termination of staff, sexual misconduct, and other types of internal church turmoil.

Conflict Mediation Training

If you are interested in learning to assist congregations in resolving conflict and experiencing reconciliation, the next available 40 hour basic mediation training is March 9-13, 2009 at the Baptist Building in Dallas, TX.

Women in Leadership Ministry

As more churches want their leadership to reflect the population of their congregations, more women are able to answer their call into ministry. Leadership Training for Affinity Groups

Hispanic Baptist Convention

This annual meeting for Hispanic pastors, church leaders and church members provides training, information, inspiration, cohesion and coordination in the work of Hispanic churches as part of the Baptist General Convention of Texas family.

Hispanic Preaching Conference
This annual event, co-sponsored by Truett Theological Seminary, is held at the seminary campus in Waco. The conference gives basic instruction and continuing education workshops in the art of preaching in the Hispanic context in Texas. This conference focuses on the lay preacher, with emphasis on the basic steps in preaching. It also provides a continuing learning experience for pastors.

Spiritual Gifts Workbook
A free, Spanish-language workbook, “Spiritual Gifts” can be used by pastors and other church members to discover their spiritual gifts.
