Keynote Speaker

Ivy Beckwith, New Canaan, Connecticut

Ivy grew up in Guilford, CT and graduated in 1976 from Gordon College in Wenham, MA with a degree in English. She received her Masters in Religious Education from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1981. Ivy earned a Ph.D. in Education in 1991 from Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL.

Ivy brings over 20 years of experience in Christian education. From 1978-1994 she served as Director of Christian Education at churches in New England and the Midwest. She then worked as a Christian education representative for Gospel Light Publications, consulting with Midwestern churches about their educational ministries and later joined Group Publishing, where she was Senior Editor for Curriculum. In 2000, Ivy returned to church ministry at Colonial Church in Edina, Minnesota, where she served as Minister to Children and Families through 2004.

In addition to her church ministry, Ivy has been a sought after speaker and trainer in the areas of Children’s Ministry and church educational ministry. She has been a workshop leader at Children’s Pastors Conference and the Emergent Convention. Ivy is a member of the Board of Directors of Emergent and of Mars Hill Graduate School in Bothell, WA. She has authored several publications including her 2004 book, Postmodern Children’s Ministry: Ministry to Children in the 21st Century, her 2007 release, The Ultimate Survival Guide for Children's Ministry Workers and her 2010 book, Formational Children’s Ministry: Shaping Children Using Story, Ritual and Relationship.

Bob Singleton

Bob is one of the most widely heard creators of music for kids in the world. He’s also one of the most widely heard creators of music for kids worship in the world. He is president of God’s Kids Worship®, and their kids worship DVDs and other materials are used in over 2,000 churches and Christian schools in the US and Canada. Several recent VBS series from BaptistWay Press includes music DVDs and CDs created by God's Kids Worship.

Bob is a multi-platinum, Grammy and multiple-Dove nominated producer of music for kids. Bob was music director for "Barney & Friends" for 10 years, and has been a featured or keynote speaker at the Children's Pastors Conferences, ACSI Conferences, Metro Conference, and many others. He’s been interviewed by ABC Radio, American Family Radio, Moody Broadcasting Network, Salem Radio Network and several other networks and stations in the US and Canada; and appeared on The 700 Club in the US, and 700 Huntley Street in Canada. He has written articles for magazines, including Children's Ministry Magazine, K! Magazine, Charisma, Audio Post, Origin, contributed to books, and been published in the LA Times.
