Summer Mission Opportunity

The Texas Baptists Church2Church Partnerships Office has joined with Baptists Global Response to launch a Summer Missions Opportunity to collect "In-Home Care Kits" for terminally ill persons in South Africa. Much like the "Buckets of Hope" various health care supplies will be placed in a 5 gallon bucket. These supplies will provide a touch of physical and spiritual healing to the terminally ill people in Sub-Sahara Africa.

Go to www.inhomecarekit.org to find out what items go in the kit and how to pack the items. The cost per kit is $50 to $75. Many Vacation Bible School groups are doing this project. Raising funds with VBS offerings then having older kids or youth put the kits together. Texas Baptists have made a goal to provide 1,000 kits.

Once the kits are put together please deliver or ship to The Baptists General Convention of Texas. The Dallas Baptist Building is serving as a the drop off location for the state of Texas. The deadline is September 1, 2010. After this date the BGR will send a truck to pick up the kits. They will be distributed by the BGR Missionaries beginning in the winter of 2010.
